summer concert SERIES in prospect park 2018
Tuesday, July 10, 2018, 7pm — Great music by Pig's Eye Jass Band at Pratt School Amphitheater. One review says this about them: "The Pig’s Eye Jass Band out of the Twin Cities has been around seemingly forever. The group makes a lot of people happy as it preserves the style of Dixieland Jazz." We hope you will join us for an evening of music and community. Lemonade provided by Luxton Park. Bring along a pillow or blanket to make your seat comfortable.
Friday, August 10, 2018, 6 pm — Community Concert & Celebration with music by Parks and Wreck and Inti Samay at Luxton Park.
Please join in at Luxton Community Center for our 4th Annual Community Celebration. We'll have music, food, backpack give-away for kids, community information tables, and two different music groups. Parks and Wreck, a band of young people involved with Minneapolis Parks, and Inti Samay, an Ecuadorian folkloric and traditional dance group, will be performing. The event begins at 6 with food; music begins at 6:30. More details coming soon. Luxton Community Center, 112 Williams Ave. SE.
Want to help make this a grand celebration? Volunteers needed. Contact Lydia McAnerney or 612-581-0868.
Get involved with the Concert Task Force! The Prospect Park Summer Concert Committee is a group of volunteers who plan, fundraise and organize small live-music events throughout the summer months. Most of the concerts take place on Tuesdays at Pratt Community Center's Amphitheater (66 SE Malcolm Avenue, near the back of the building). In the past two years a larger concert has been organized in Luxton Park, featuring more bands, food and fun! Rain location: Prospect Park United Methodist Church. Refreshments provided by Luxton Community Center. Donations at concerts encouraged.
